Scholarships

Post 67 American Legion, Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Scholarship Application Instructions

Conditions:

1. Two scholarships per year will be awarded to qualified candidates
2. Candidates must have one of the following family members belong to Post 67
   • Mother or Father
   • Grandfather or Grandmother
   • Brother or Sister
3. Application for each scholarship is open to graduating seniors and current  freshman or sophomores enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution, or current military  personnel in their first enlistment.
4. The typed or printed application must be received by Post 67 on or before March 15th of the calendar year

Selection Criteria for Scholarship:

1. The candidate’s service to his or her community; i.e; volunteer work and accomplishments
2. The candidate’s leadership qualities; his or her seriousness of purpose, as well as a demonstrated tendency to become involved, and lead activities.
3. The candidates demonstrated scholarship; i.e. his or her acceptance to a four – year college, junior college, or vocational – technical school, and a minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.00 scale

Payment of Scholarship:

1. A payment of $500.00 is made upon selection for the scholarship with proof of acceptance at a postsecondary institution
2. A payment of $500.00 is made with proof of satisfactory completion of the full first term. A copy of a grade report must be submitted to the scholarship Selection Committee
